Green Business Innovation: Which Opportunities for SMEs?
Thursday January 22 at the Hotel Oriente Bari, is held the business meeting of Green Business Innovation, the project in which ARTI is a partner, financed by EU funds within the European Territorial Cooperation Programme Greece-Italy 2007-2013.
TheGBI project is aimed bothto the demand for greentechnologies of thecompanies interested inintroducing innovation intheir processeseither to the offer of green solutions proposed by businesses, tutors and expertise.
The meeting will be anopportunity to present the project and the next events as the consulting activities andthe Green Business Innovation ExcellenceAward, whose deadline for nominations expires next January 30.
Hellenic Management Association developed an online platform which facilitates the interaction between interested enterprises who want to become “green”.
Enterprises could seek for new synergies by registering on the “Business Directory”, which is supported by the platform of GBI. By this means, all interested parties could use the filters that suits best their search and find enterprises who respond to the needs of each company.
Another aspect of the interactive platform is the online chatting and the exchange of direct e-mails between enterprises. These methods enable communication on real time.
The main objective of the “Business Directory” is to facilitate the communication, the sharing of new ideas and the exchange of good practices between the interactive enterprises.

ARTI, in the framework of activities related to the Project Green Business Innovation, has the task to establish the "Green Entrepreneurship Excellence Award", a competition for the conferment of an award of excellence to the Apulian SME who will propose the most innovative product or service in the field of eco-innovation.
The award, created with the aim of giving visibility to good practices and sustainable projects, as to point out the Apulian innovative entrepreneurial initiatives in Greece showing with concrete examples the benefits of the green economy. It is geared to small and medium-sized businesses with operational headquarters in Puglia.
ARTI has chosen to focus on three areas of interest:
a) Eco innovationaimed at reducing energy consumption
b) Eco designapplied to the goods produced by SMEs of the Region, in order to encourage studies and approaches that help to design goods that use resources, renewable materials and production processes, with less impact on the natural environment
c) Green packagingthrough direct interventions to design and implement environmentally friendly and eco sustainable packaging
The applications will be judged according to the criteria of quality (efficiency and industrial competitiveness of the product /service), repeatability (possibility of exporting the product /service to foreign markets, particularly in Greece), sustainability (reducing the environmental impact linked to the product/service) and innovation (originality and innovativeness of the product/service).

The rankings of the two call launched in September by ARTS within the framework of the project Green Business Innovation for the implementation of seminars at associations, local authorities, groups and businesses interested in improving its expertise in the green sectors and consultancy activities for SMEs of the Puglia Region, interested in adopting green practices and technologies are online
Three the areas of intervention:

Businesses and Entrepreneurs are increasingly exploring green business opportunities based on systemic thinking and innovation. In line with this, the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE) is organizing an interactive Workshop on how organizations can become more “green”. The Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, October the 15th at 17.00 at the Astir Hotel, Patras, Greece.
The Workshop is open to Entrepreneurs, Managers and Staff from the manufacturing, trade and service sectors who are interested in greening their businesses. Executives from research and educational institutions may also participate.
In addition to the “Guide on Innovative Green Entrepreneurship” which will be presented, the Workshop will set the basis for the establishment of a cross-border network of similar businesses between Greece and Italy aiming to provide innovative practices.

“Greening your Business” Seminars in Patras
The first group of 25 participants have successfully completed the first training seminar on “Greening your Business” at EEDE’s premises in Patras. EEDE is pleased to announce that the second training seminar commences on December 3rd and calls all those interested in participating to please submit the relevant application by Monday, December 1st.
The duration of the seminar amounts to a total of 50 hours during which experts and practitioners aim to give the participants tangible and practical tips to gearing their companies to becoming more sustainable.

After the successful Workshop "Going Green?" held at the Hotel Astir in Patras on the 15th of October, the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE) is announcing the commencement of its training seminars which will be held from Wednesday, November 5th in Patras.
High quality training seminars "Greening your Business" will be offered to participants who are interested in obtaining tangible and practical tips to becoming more sustainable. The seminars are geared towards entrepreneurs, managers and staff from the manufacturing, trade and service sectors that are already green and are interested in becoming more green and to those who are in the initial phase of greening their business.
