The kinetic energy storage and regeneration system of Montemesola’s company lifts wins the award raffled by ARTI within the Green Business Innovation project

Encosys, enterprise located in Montemesola (TA) that operates in environmental and renewable energy sector, won the Green Entrepreneurship Excellence Award, award introduced by ARTI – Regional Agency of Technology and Innovation– and bestowed to the most innovative product or service in the field of environmentally friendly innovation.

Organized within the Green Business Innovation European project, the excellence award was addressed to small and medium-sized enterprises of Puglia Region with the aim of giving visibility to good practices and sustainable projects. In addition to that, it makes noticeable to Greece the innovative entrepreneurial initiatives and proves the vantages of green economy with concrete examples.

Between the 20 enterprises that were in the running, the commission chose to reward Encosys and its SEM (Storage Energy Management), a storage and regeneration system of lifts’ kinetic energy, that can be implemented in machinery management of the industrial sector.

The system is composed by an electronic control unit (inverter) and an energy accumulator. SEM recovers the energy of descent of the elevator, which normally dissipates into heat, and then return it during ascent, leading to energy savings of up to 60%. In addition, it reduces the operating power of the lift from 15 to 3 KW and cancel the problems of a possible power blackout, as thanks to SEM the elevator does not stop but complete the travel safely. Equipped with Wi-Fi connection for the visualisation programming and remote control, SEM can be powered both in monophase and three-phase, both at 239V and 400V, at 50 Hz as well as at 60Hz without endanger the operation into load.

On the occasion of award ceremony, planned for June 2015, Encosys will be awarded with a video spot and an institutional professional video of the winning product raffled by ARTI.
